Family Unification Program

The Family Unification Program (FUP) is a program under which housing assistance is provided under the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program through a collaboration with Pickaway Metropolitan Housing Authority (PMHA) and Pickaway County Jobs and Family Services (PCJFS). Through the collaboration, twenty vouchers are reserved annually for PJFS referrals. The Family Unification Program assists:

How do I apply?

Enrollment in the program is made by referral only. Families referred by Pickaway County Jobs and Family Services must also meet Pickaway Metropolitan Housing Authority’s eligibility criteria to qualify for this program.

Veterans Administration Support Housing (VASH)

HUD-VASH is a collaborative program between Pickaway Metropolitan Housing Authority (PMHA) and the Veteran’s Administration (VA) which combines HUD housing vouchers with VA supportive services to help Veterans and their families who are homeless find and sustain permanent housing. PMHA provides rental assistance vouchers for privately owned housing to Veterans who are eligible for VA health care services and are experiencing homelessness. VA case managers may connect these Veterans with support services such as health care, mental health treatment and substance use counseling to help them in their recovery process and with their ability to maintain housing in the community.

Among VA homeless continuum of care programs, HUD-VASH enrolls the largest number and largest percentage of Veterans who have experienced long-term or repeated homelessness. At the end of FY 2020, 100,570 subsidized housing vouchers were allocated to HUD-VASH with nearly 80,000 formerly homeless Veterans living in their own permanent housing as a result of this partnership between HUD and VA.

PMHA is proud to partner with the Veteran’s Administration to provide subsidy to 26 veteran families through the HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) Program.
